Martin GT Magnet Middle School offers choices for your student to explore or expand his or her gifts and talents!!  We have an exciting year ahead.  If you would like to learn more about us, we have many opportunities for you to do so.  Our visitation schedule for 2009-2010 is as follows:

Magnet Fair-Magnet Fair offers you a general browse time of ALL of the magnet school options within Wake County.  You can visit schools within a particular program pathway to decide which model is best for your child.  Then, you can decide which schools you would like to visit!  Magnet Fair takes place on Saturday, November 7th, at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School, from 10:00am-1:00pm.

OPEN HOUSE!  This is the best, most comprehensive opportunity to see our school!  During these dates, you can choose from any of the sessions offered at 9:00am, 10:30am, and 12:00pm.  During EACH session, you will see a dynamic performance, receive important information about our school through a presentation delivered by our principal, Mr. Martin, have an opportunity to tour our school with our knowlegeable Peer Helpers, and chat with Mr. Martin, other staff, parents, and students. You do NOT need to sign up for a session.  Your students are welcome and encouraged to come! 

The dates are:

Tuesday, NOVEMBER 17th-Come see our Drama and Tech Theatre students present, "The ABC's of Martin"!  Experience our arts department through this engaging performace, before heading out for a tour!

Tuesday, JANUARY 19TH-Come see our performing arts groups before heading out for a tour. More specific times will be listed here closer to the open house date.

Small Group Tours-This is an abbreviated tour. Our most comprehensive tours take place during our Open House dates listed below.  Please sign up for one of these tours only if you cannot make one of our Open House dates, as you will just tour, and not see an overview or a performance. You MUST reserve a space, as groups are limited to 10 people.  Call Lisa Thompson, Magnet Program Coordinator, at 881-4987.  These will be the only small group tours offered this year.  Dates and times are as follows:

-October-Tuesday the 20th, at 2:45

-November-Tours during Open House-see Open House information above

-December-Tuesday the 8th at 1:40

-January-Tours during the Open House-see Open House information above 

-February-Tuesday the 2nd, 9th, and 16th at 1:40

Evening K-8 Browse Sessions-in January.  Will be located off-campus.

Northern Wake County:  Brassfield Elementary, January 5th, 2010

Western Wake County:  Davis Drive Elementary, January 7th, 2010

The Magnet Application period for the 2010-2011 school year is February 1st-21st, 2010.
